Lineatus Wrasse
The Lineatus Wrasse, also known as the Purple-Lined Fairy Wrasse, is one of the most prized fairy wrasses in the hobby. It shows a rich pink-to-lavender body traced with rows of fine purple and magenta lines, an intricate purple-patterned face, a bright red-ringed eye, and vivid yellow fins accented with electric blue spotting and an orange-edged dorsal.
Collected from the deeper reefs of the Coral Sea and northeastern Australia, the Lineatus is a rare find and a true collector's fish. It is peaceful, active, and spends its day swimming in the open water column, making it an excellent showpiece for a mature reef aquarium. A tight-fitting lid or mesh screen is strongly recommended, as fairy wrasses are known jumpers.
It feeds on zooplankton in the wild and does best on a varied diet of high-quality frozen mysis, enriched brine shrimp, and fine pellets offered several times a day.
